DDoP 2016 Ep04: Thread Snippings 002: Robe Version 2

This is another Dog Days of Podcasting catch-up episode; this one is for Sunday, August 7.

In this episode, I share the strategy I used to make my Jedi robe. I know the prevailing Jedi wisdom is “Do or do not, there is no try,” but I went into this project with an attitude of “If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again.” Does that make me a poor Jedi?* Maybe, but I do believe it has made me a better cosplayer. This is among the most ambitious cosplay projects I’ve ever taken on, so I knew I wasn’t going to succeed completely the first time I tried to make it. Therefore, I strategically planned to make a Version 1 and a Version 2 so that I could make a ton of mistakes on Version 1, then fix them all in Version 2.

Show Notes:

  • Theme song for Thread Snippings: “Puzzle Pieces,” by Lee Rosevere, from the album Music for Podcasts 2. This song is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license and is available via freemusicarchive.org.
  • * I feel the need to add a disclaimer here to say that I am being somewhat facetious. I don’t really, seriously self-identify as a Jedi for purposes of my everyday life; I just like pretending to be one at conventions and special events. 🙂
